Jen and Maggie, Point Vicente Interpretive Center

Palos Verdes, California

Josh and I had such an awesome time at Jen & Maggie’s wedding celebration; the ladies know how to throw a great party! I was especially excited that the celebration took place at Point Vicente Interpretive Center, what used to be Marine Land (my mom worked at Marine Land a long time ago so it was cool to finally see where the place was). There was an old lighthouse in the distance that was absolutely beautiful. Jen said that lighthouses where very meaningful to her so we made sure to capture some great shots of the lighthouse. We also framed the lighthouse in the background of the family portraits and in a few of their romantic images.

I had so much fun photographing all the colorful pieces of their reception from the lights to the flowers. They had placed strands of lights over the dance floor on the patio which really lit up the place and made for some interesting camera effects and backgrounds. They even had trendy white lounge furniture providing the guests a place to relax.

One thing Josh and I both really appreciated was how attentive the servers were to everyone, including the vendors. Most of the time it is really difficult for us to eat at the passed hors d’oeuvres receptions, but the servers always made sure that we got some of the tasty appetizers. Thank you! I think everyone at the wedding would agree that Maggie and Jen have a beautiful relationship. Their love for each other and the happiness of their union really shows on their smiling faces. I’m so glad we got to share in their special day.

Coyote Hills Country Club, Fullerton, CA

Valerie & Shawn

This wedding was one of my personal favorites! They used awesome colors (I like pink), they got married at the perfect time of day with the sun just getting ready to set, and they chose an amazing location! If you are looking for a beautiful place to get married this is a good one. Josh and I almost had our wedding at the Coyote Hills Country Club too, which may be why I like it so much. Seriously though, it’s worth checking out.

Back to my darling couple… they had so much fun together on their wedding day and I think it really shows through their images. There was a lot of smiling and laughing all day, despite the drama of missing flowers.

Shawn and Valerie are so much fun and are so perfect for each other. For their engagement portraits we went to Disneyland for a half day riding rides and taking pictures. They got engaged on Main Street with the snow falling from above, so we made sure to capture some great images of them one year later on Main Street in the snow.

I feel so lucky to have been able to capture such important memories for them so far!

Long Beach Wedding, Southern California

Amanda & Natu

This Polynesian Long Beach wedding was truly a dinner and a show. They brought in Hawaiian dancers for the guests to watch throughout dinner, ending the meal with a fire dancer and of course the traditional Polynesian money dance. It was a lot of fun!

Wedding at the Newport Beach County Club

MAGGIE & STEVE

I love Maggie and Steve. A week before their wedding we drove around town trying to find the perfect hotel for Maggie to get ready in. We did figure out the best hotel for her and then drove on to take a look at the church and the country club to plan out their big day.

The first image is the lovely bride and groom walking away from the reception area – you can see some of the guests in the background.

The photographs you see here are just a few of the romantic photos we took at the Newport Beach Country Club just before their reception. What you are not seeing here is the water that saturated the golf course from the four days of rain before their wedding.  We walked along one of the sidewalk paths to capture these beautiful images.

Wedding at the Anaheim Sheraton Hotel

MALISSA & BUCKY

Malissa and Bucky are a sweet couple who wanted fun yet traditional photographs. I wanted to make sure I gave them beautiful images that were fun and energetic. These first two images of Malissa are not your traditional portraits and I like it that way. She looks gorgeous!

In the hotel lobby I saw this huge fish tank that was filled with bright colors. I thought this would be a great backdrop for our monochrome bride and groom. I think it adds a lot of energy and movement to the shot. This is again one of those times that I found and unusual background to enhance the image.

Stunning right? I have to admit I did not take this image, my husband did. Josh has a great eye for capturing beautiful moments in time. I love how he used the flower in the frame to add color and atmosphere. I love the way her dress flows in this photograph too. It’s stunning!

Wedding in Downey, CA

MIRIAM & ISMAEL

I’m so proud of my amazing husband who took these images at a wedding we photographed in Downey, California. I love the color in the images. It was rainy, wet and cloudy on the day of the wedding which can create a gray cast in the images. I think these romantic pictures came out great. I love the facial expressions in the group photograph as well.
