Christie and Thurman said their vows before their celebration began. Their wedding day was truly a celebration of their forever with each other and they had fun!
Christie’s gown was sheer and sexy with lace trim. She wore glittery stiletto shoes and had sparkle in her hair. Christie also wore a military garter while her bridesmaids wore matching garters with a place to hold their liquor. Her bouquet was adorned with jewelry from the women in her life who had passed on; her mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The sentiment was also seen at the ceremony when they saved a seat for a photo of Christie’s mother so she could be part of the celebration.
Thurman wore a suit he bought at a shop in Afghanistan where he was deployed. Under that suit he was secretly The Hulk, while his groomsmen were other superheroes.
Even though they were already married, they stuck to some of traditions, like not seeing the bride before the wedding. Instead, they wrote note to each other filled with love and inside jokes.
The couples joy and sense of humor could be seen throughout their wedding starting with the programs, “So you’re going to sit through a wedding: A practical guide to not falling asleep…”. Thurman added an extra surprise to the day when Christie went to put his ring on him and saw that he had gotten a tattoo of a ring on his finger.
Purple, maroon and yellow wine colors splashed the entire reception. Christie hand made the flower arrangements that hung from the top of the tent. The centerpieces were wine bottle vases filled with flowers. Adding a little more gold to the reception was the unique personalized honey pots for each of the guests to take home. The reception went on with on with more fun games, and a cake cutting to remember.
