Chris + Anna

Chris and Anna casually asked me if I’d be their wedding photographer about a year ago at a cyclocross race. Chris and Josh are both on the Boneyard Cycling team so we’ve had a chance to get to know him over the last couple years. I felt so honored to be part of their day!

There’s truly nothing more magical than getting married in front of Mount Bachelor on Elk Lake. It’s a divine setting! Chris and Anna chose a fall colored theme throughout there wedding complete with succulents they grew themselves. They also added in a traditional lei ceremony that they shared with their kids.

It was simple, romantic and just perfect.

Anna and Chris,

Thank you so much for letting me capture this perfect day for you and your family. I can’t wait to get know you guys even more once the cycling season begins again. You guys are so fun and hope this day was everything you hoped it would it be!

Hailey + Nate

“Marriage is surviving that relationship each day and still loving each other enough to say I love you at night” – Hailey

Hailey and Nate met at work were they became friends and developed a great base for their relationship. Eventually they started dating and Nate knew she was the one after just a few dates. He told Hailey he would wait for her as long as she needed to say yes. They’ve been together for 5 years and finally joined their two families together in Sisters, Oregon at FivePine Resort.

While enjoying the beautiful waterfalls along the South Fork of the John Day River, Nate pulled out a ring and proposed to Hailey on Christmas Eve. As a second marriage for both Nate and Hailey, they were thinking a small wedding with just close family and friends would be enough to share their love. However, Hailey’s grandparents stepped in. Having been their for Hailey throughout her life like parents, they wanted their Hailey to have a magical wedding.

Hailey’s grandmother took care of almost all of the planning for her and did an amazing job! Wanting a simple fall themed wedding in the woods, they chose the FivePine Resort in Sisters, Oregon for the stunning setting. With warm tones of reds, oranges and candle light sprinkled throughout the day, her grandmother created the perfect fall wedding for the couple. She even handmade the candles and the soap gifts for the guests.

Hailey said, “We are building a home together and manage a small 300+ acre hobby farm, this brings you close together. If you can survive building a home and what is thrown at you with farm life, then you can endure anything.”

Hailey and Nate,

It was so wonderful to get to know you guys! Hailey, as moms of boys, I feel like we’ve bonded 🙂 I can’t wait to photograph your whole family again. We loved getting to know your friends and family and seeing how much love you have in your life. I hope you continue to cherish the love around you and keep enduring and enjoying life together!

-Kellianne (and Josh)

“My dress was purchased from Blueberry Boutique in the tri-cities. Due to the COVID pandemic, entering a dress shop was prohibited. However, we waited until their was a guideline lifted and, though it takes months to order the exact dress, I was able to purchase one from the store I could take home. It was a very special experience. My Grandfather purchased my dress and my Grandmother was with me when it was chosen. My Grandfather makes sure we girls look and feel beautiful.” – Hailey

It’s so fun to see Nate having a blast with Hailey’s sons!

One of the sweet girls at the wedding created a little bracelet and something blue for both the bride and the groom. I’ve actually never seen a groom have a something borrowed, something blue and something new before. Nate had them all – this was a first for me!

“We have laughed a lot in the last day, as Nate experienced a unforgettable change in his hairstyle. He went for a trim and was given a clean shave of his whole head. There really isn’t a fix at this point and again we have just decided that it isn’t what is the most important thing about our day…these are the reasons we get through everything” – Hailey.

I love the attitude Hailey has. the most important thing as that they share love and she definitely kept that as a focus!

Sweet father-daughter moments are the best!

Hailey’s 93 year old Grandpa was a huge part of her day and has been a huge part of her life since her mother passed away when she was young. We had to celebrate this special time with a sweet first look between them just before the ceremony.

Hailey’s grandmother often makes handmade soaps for the family. When it came to the wedding day, this seemed like the perfect gift to give to the guests. They are so beautiful!

Hailey’s grandmother handmade these mercury glass candle holders. Every one is unique and absolutely stunning. Didn’t she do an amazing job?

I love candids! Especially when we can capture moments of joy with kids, grandkid, grandparents and best friends from kindergarten like in these fun photos!

Their musical-star friend played a few songs to celebrate their day. She also played at Hailey’s grandparents wedding years ago so this was an extra special performance on their wedding day.

Me and the bride! It was a blast celebrating you guys!

“Marriage is a gift of two people to one another, to serve God and one another faithfully.” – Bethany

Bethany and John have been together for over 5 years. They met in high school and their friendship grew through church and running cross country together. When one went off to USC and the other to Notre Dame, no one thought these two would be together. However, their school rivalries couldn’t stop them. Eventually their friendship turned into something more and they started dating long distance while Bethany finished medical school. Eventually they made it to the same city, got engaged soon after and are so excited to now be joined as husband and wife!

They love to run, fish, camp and hike together. John fell knew she was the one on a fishing trip together when she caught a spring Chinook salmon on the Columbia River. She new over a series of moments as he supported her and carried for her through trials.

John proposed while they were on a cross-country run through Big Basin State Park in the California Redwoods. He painted a box with activities and places that were significant to them and put the ring inside! So sweet and thoughtful! Of course she said yes.

After planning a wedding full of friends and family, with over 200 guests, Covid-19 got in the way and they had to narrow down the guest list to 50. Despiate all the changes and sacrifies, they focused on the important thing, which was their marriage, and had great attitdes through it all.

When we met for their venue walk through, the smoke from the near by fires had been making the air toxic for days. We may a plan for all photos to be inside. Luckily, the smoke cleared for their wedding day!

Bethany and John chose St. Francis since John had attended the church and school since he was 5 years old. Having a Catholic wedding was very important to them. They have both celebrated some of their Sacraments there and were so excited to celebrate their marriage at St. Francis church in Bend.

Bethany and John,

I’m so excited for you to finally be husband and wife, to come together and to serve the Lord through your marriage. You two are meant for each other and you guys are such a beautiful couple. I wish the best for both of you!

Bethany was shopping for a dress during the COVID 19 pandemic when all stores were closed. After trying on a few dresses from online ordering by herself, with her mom on FaceTime, it was a bit discouraging. Once stores opened up, her mom came to visit. They made an appointment on a whim at a store which was going out of business, which had a very small selection of dresses. Thankfully, they found the perfect dress there together!

This is the box that John made! I love that Bethany added it to the details to be photographed. It’s so special!

Her something blue!!

All the girls got ready in Bethany’s parents home which of course was filled were beautiful family photos and childhood memories. Josh saw a photo of Bethany playing the piano so we thought it would be fun to capture her all grown up playing the piano. Mom and Dad can have both photos next to each other on their shelf now.

The lace back is absolutely stunning. It has a vintage 1920’s style to it and is simply perfect!

What a fun surprise!! They were filled with joy when some of their friends came to witness them exiting the church.

Gotta have fun, right?

Even though there was surprise construction all around the church, we were able to hide it and make magic happen! We also did our best to hide John’s hand – he had to have surgery after an accident with a knife the night before the wedding.

Bethany and John choreographed their first dance!

A long tradition of sharing Crown Royal at celebrations meant that the father of the bride had to continue this at his daughter’s wedding. He shared a toast with all the guests!

Spence Family

My sweet friend Ashley gathered with her family in Government Camp near Mount Hood in Oregon to celebrate her sister’s 40th birthday. It was such a special time! I had so much fun getting to know her family better.

We met at the Summit Ski area and headed to the open field near by with a ski lift and views of Mount hood. I’m so glad there was some shade by the near by trees so they weren’t blinded by the sun. We took a bunch of photos in a short amount of time so they could get back to having fun together as a family.

To the Spence family,

These memories are so much fun! Thank you for being great sports about hiking up a hill to the field. It was totally worth it! I hope these memories bring you joy for many years to come!

Orser Family

The Orser family comes to Sunriver every year to celebrate summer. This year, their daughter Emma, was looking to have her senior photos taken in this beautiful place that she loves so much. They reached out to me about a senior session and ended up doing a senior, family and family reunion/extended family session all in one. In about 90 minutes we captured beautiful senior portraits and family memories all in one. I mean seriously, how gorgeous is this family?

The best part was that they got to include their dogs in many of the photos. I love to photograph the bond between fur babies and their humans. It is so special! Toby and Bailey were so playful. They loved discovering the area and even listened and smiled at the camera when they were asked too.

Lori and Jeff are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year so I thought it fitting to give them a few extra couples photos during this session. Every couple needs photos to document these occasions!

To the Orser family,

Thank you so much for laughing with me and having great attitudes throughout your session. I had so much fun getting to know your family and I absolutely love all of the photographs and memories we captured! I’m so excited for you to have these throughout your home to look back on for years to come. Thank you so much!!

I love capturing mom with her babies, even when they are all grown up!

I’m oddly proud of this photo. I held two energetic dogs in one hand and a camera in the other for this photo! I’m so lucky dogs like me and actually listen to me most of the time.

How fun is it that these dogs joined in the smiles and laughter during this image! LOVE it!
