I always love photographing the McCormick family. They are so kind and fun! Due to the quarantine, they happened to be in Oregon. Yay! This meant fun family photography time at Shevlin Park in Bend, Oregon.
The green spring-time Aspens made for a perfect backdrop for photos with 4 month old Palmer. She was so smiley which was delightful! And of course we had to take a couple photos in the pine tree landscape Oregon is known for. I love that those two areas are next to each other at Shevlin Park.
I’m so glad we got to take these photos and document Palmer as she grows. It was also great to show her interacting with Mom and Dad.
To the Ashley, Alex and Palmer,
I love these photos and I hope you will enjoy these memories! I can’t wait to photograph your family again.
Our sweet friends, Kim and Ryan, are moving away. I cannot tell you how sad this makes me. I love these two so much! We are so grateful that Josh and Ryan are both on the same Boneyard cycling team. Kim was so much fun to spend cyclocross season with and it truly will not be the same without her. Who is going to bring really loud noise makers for my boys? 🙂
Kim and Ryan really wanted to capture photos in Bend that would represent their time here and be really beautiful family images that they can cherish. I like to think that these will always remind them of me and Josh too. I really do hope that every time they see these images they are reminded of much we love and appreciate them.
We went to one of my favorite locations in Bend, Oregon – Dillon Falls. The field and nature path along the river are beautiful! It’s actually really difficult to photograph near the waterfall, but the rest of the landscape is stunning. It not only provided those classic Oregon trees and river, but also gave us a simple field to photograph in which was exactly what Kim was looking for.
I do want to mention Cedar, their fur baby. Often people ask if they can bring their dogs. I always say yes! Kim actually didn’t ask, so I texted her about 30 minutes before the session to make sure Cedar was in the car. I know how much their dog means to them, and especially to Kim, so it was important that he was part of these images.
Josh and I had so much fun hanging with our friends, laughing and celebrating life during this session!
Kim and Ryan,
We truly love you guys and don’t know what we are going to do without you here – I plan on calling once a week :). Seriously though, I’m so excited for the new chapter in your life and I really hope these photos give you a sense of closure to your time in Bend, while reminding you of all the memories and friendships you have made during your time here. May this next adventure be everything you hoped for!
xoxo – Kelli
Kim mentioned that she felt fireworks after their kiss in the woods. It’s amazing how just a little time focused on each other and being fully present with one another can bring back those magical sparks!
Where Kim grew up, there were a ton of these types of fences. When she saw this one, her eyes lit up and she begged me to stop and grab a couple photos.
Crystal is making huge changes in her life like branching out and starting her own bookkeeping business. With a fresh start happening, she needed fresh photos. We had such a great time hanging out in the Old Mill District for her beautiful photos! We had to get some greenery in the photos too or it just wouldn’t represent Bend, Oregon. I love how she stuck to blue tones which not only represent her brand but also look great on her!
There are some beautiful headshots as well as more diverse images to allow her to use them for many different types of marketing. I love creating empty space on the side of an image to give a place for text.
I can’t wait to see what you do with these amazing photos of you. I hope you have huge success in this new business venture!
It’s time to introduce Stina! She’s my amazing assistant and friend. If you get a call from her, just know that she’s awesome and can help you with anything, like figuring out what to wear to your session or choosing an awesome location. She planned her whole session and it was perfect!
It was truly a gift to be able to meet up with Stina and her family on our road trip. This was one of the only sessions I’ve shown up to without any make-up on and my hair a mess after an 8 hour car ride. Sometimes that’s how it goes. And it didn’t change their photos one bit. I really love being able to stop anywhere to photograph families. This family is special since Stina is on my team helping make amazing art for our clients.
We met them at the Anthony Chabot Regional Park where they like to visit as a family. It was pretty busy, but we were able to find a few places with beautiful scenery and hardly any people which helped us focus on their relationships. I love that their joy and love can be seen throughout their photos. Their kids, Caleb and Leena, (oh, did you notice we both have boys named Caleb? I love it!), anywho… their kids are beautiful, full of joy and actually get along. Leena kept making Caleb smile and even gave him a piggy-back ride to get him to laugh.
It was fantastic getting to know them all more and seeing our kids play together. I can’t wait for the next hang out time!
It was a joy meeting your family! Thank you for all you are doing for me and all the help you give me and our clients. I couldn’t do this without you and I hope gifting you some photos helps you know how much I appreciate you! I can’t wait to get to know you more and see what magic we will do together!
Aren’t we a cute team? And seriously, what’s up with my hair?
Stephanie and Brent are seriously the cutest couple! Even when they had to cancel their long planned 2020 trip to Paris for their 20th anniversary, they still managed to plan an awesome trip to the Sunriver Resort. They even had great attitudes about it! I could tell they were soaking up the love and time away. I mean look at how they look at each other! 20 years into a marriage and they are still happy!
Brent had visited Paris in high school and has been planning on taking Stephanie there for a romantic vacation ever since they met (I think-at least for a very long time). We totally related on this! Paris is one of my favorite places on earth. I also went in high school and have been trying to take Josh there ever since we met. The world has flipped travel upside down and I find it refreshing to see people change what they are doing and find joy in the new plans.
With the 20th anniversary gift of Emeralds in mind, Stephanie chose an Emerald outfit for her and tie for Brent to capture that spirit. The color looks great on them which is awesome! I’m not sure I could pull of the look like Stephanie has.
My favorite thing about photographing Stephanie and Brent was watching them make each other laugh. If that is the secret to a healthy and strong marriage then count me in. I love when Josh makes me laugh and I hope we keep laughing, smiling and loving each other like these two.
Stephanie mentioned that it seems like time has gone by so quickly. It’s easy to see how that could be. They look like they always have a ton of fun together and when you are having fun, time flies.
Stephanie and Brent,
Spending a short time with you has made me hopeful and has put a smile on face. You two are so in love and it’s easy to see. I can only hope that I have as much happiness as you have when we reach 20 years. And I hope Josh still looks at me the way Brent looks at you, Stephanie. I truly hope your anniversary was amazing! And I hope I get to be there in Paris photographing you on your make-up trip 🙂 Thank you again for letting me be part of your story and letting me capture these beautiful photos of you two! Lastly, thanks for putting up with the cold wind!
This family is seriously amazing! Christy and Charlie have a very full life – full of cuddles, joy and tons of love! And it’s totally contagious. Every time I’ve gone to their home and spent time with their family, I leave feeling refreshed and ready for anything. It may be surprising to be energized after wrangling quadruplets, but I thrive in chaos, which may be one reason why I love photographing this family of seven.
One day before their 10th anniversary, Christie decided that a celebration was needed. 24 hours later, they held this beautiful vow renewal to celebrate. I’m so impressed with how quickly she got everything together and I’m so happy I could be there to document this special event for their family. I know the kiddos are maybe too young to remember it fully. I hope they can look back at these photos and see how amazing their parents are! Even with a move to Oregon and tons of chaos in their lives, they still find ways to celebrate their love. And maybe more importantly, they still love each other fully like when they first met.
Christy and Charlie,
I’m so happy that you held this event even in the midst of a quarantine. It is so important, maybe more than ever before, to do things like this. You’ve reminded me of how special each anniversary is. I hope you continue to show your kids how much the two of you love each other. May this year be filled with more joy than the 10 before!
As part of the vow renewal they wanted to sit as a family in a circle to tell each other how much they love each other. It was such a sweet moment!
Kerri Ellis is the head teacher at the preschool that we just love! Noah has so many amazing friends and it is such a great community. I was so happy to capture these precious family moments when Kerri hosted her entire family for a week over the summer. I got a ton of great family portraits of the whole family together as well as each family individually. We had a ton of fun and I was able to get some great candid family moments of them all together too. As soon as the session was over the kids jumped into the river. I had to stick around and capture those oh so special summer moments of all the cousins having classic summer fun in the river. These are such amazing memories for their whole family. Shevlin Park is a greta place for family photos, especially in the summer when it’s full of green. Family reunion photography is the best way to remember family reunions!
When decided he wanted to surprise his wife with a drive and a photo session for their 9th anniversary, he called me. We met on the side of Hwy 20 with the Sisters mountains in the distance to document this epic day! I was planning on taking a bunch more photos, but it was a bit windy so we actually ended doing a mini session and we will do another half to their session later on. Even with a ton of wind and having be a totally casual shoot, I think they great! You can tell they are having fun together!
I also loved that Audrey wore a jacket that she made. I think she had had a lot of modeling with their awesome Porsche!
Ken and Audrey,
I hope your drive was amazing and that you guys had a ton of fun on your anniversary! I can’t wait to take more photos with you guys!
I had the pleasure of photographing the Guiney family over the summer when they had just found out they were expecting. So you can imagine my excitement to photograph their maternity/family photography session a few months later!
Kevin contacted me before Christmas asking for a gift card that he could give to his wife, Rebekah, as a very special Christmas gift. It was so much fun to take my normal gift card and add a little holiday touch. Check it out here: https://kelliannejordan.com/2019/11/24/new-gift-cards/
For their maternity session they chose to go to Tumalo State Park where they have enjoyed family dates together. It’s a special place in their hearts which made it perfect for their portrait session!
I always suggest taking photos at a place that is meaningful to you. When you hang your prints on your walls, it’s so amazing to see the scenery that brings back all the memories you’ve enjoyed at that special place. I can only hope that looking at these pictures brings back all the family memories that they have created over the last few years.
When it finally came time for their session, it started snowing. And not the pretty snow that is beautiful for photos, but that slick rain/snow stuff that isn’t pretty and just ruins your hair. So we made a plan to reschedule and it totally worked out. Just a few days later is was sunny and 60 degrees out which gave us this Spring look that completely matched Rebekah’s floral dress.
I just love the sunny glow that created the dreamy look. While we focused on the maternity portraits, I also wanted to make sure we captured all the family photos they were looking for too. In just 45 minutes we stopped time and gave them plenty of joyous and fun memories of this special time in their lives!
To the Guiney Family,
You guys are so much fun to photograph. Thank you so much trusting me with these memories. I can’t wait to meet your little one!
