Anna and Josh chose the beautiful Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon for their wedding because of the amazing mountain views of the 3 Sisters in the Cascade range. Even though it was a little smokey, the mountains made for a perfect relaxing view during their elegant ranch wedding.
Anna and Josh met on a trip with friends. There were no expectations of anything but friendship for awhile and became close friends. Anna said, “Josh was the one who consistently showed up for me and my daughter year after year.” They eventually began dating and he proposed on Mother’s Day weekend which meant a lot to Anna after being a single mom for so many years.
They love to walk their dogs, hike, cook and head to the beach. They also love the mountains which is why Black Butte Ranch in Oregon was a perfect location for their wedding. Anna wanted to get married under the Sister’s Mountains because she has hiked South Sister to the summit 3 times and Central Oregon is a special place to her.
Filled with soft blue tones, white roses and simple yet beautiful touches, their classic theme had an almost English tea elegance to it. Elegant, yet causal enough to allow the guests to relax and take in the mountain views and all the love that was in the air.
“Marriage to me means committing to the person you love, that you will be there through the good and bad times, and have someone to share and enjoy the journey with. A soft place to fall after a good or bad day. An example to set for your children so that they understand the depths of your commitment to one another and them.” – Anna
Anna and Josh,
Thank you for letting Josh and I photograph your beautiful day. We had such fun photographing you guys and getting to know you and your family. I hope to stay in touch and photograph you again soon 🙂

I absolutely loved Anna’s two wedding dresses! We started the day in her reception dress, adorned with small dots that almost looked like Aspen leaves. Her simple and fun reception dress was perfect for the pre-wedding romantic bride and groom photos in the Aspens. After photos we over, she switched into her elegant ceremony dress, and then back the first dress for the reception.
Their day was not without the typical planning issues. After booking the main lodge for their wedding, Black Butte contacted them letting the couple know that the lodge would not be finished in time for their wedding due to supply chain issues. Fortunately they were able to host the wedding on the lawn nearby. I know Anna was stressed about this, but I actually think it was a blessing. Where they got married is the Lakeside Lawn I prefer to take photos at because the views are so much better! It was also the perfect place for a tent which allowed for a stunning chandelier and kept guests out of the sun.
