I love when parents call in saying that their young child is looking for acting and modeling headshots. The parents are taking it seriously which is rare and exciting. My mom took me seriously when she saw my passion for acting and I think that is why I LOVE taking pictures of young actors and actresses.
Lucy is only 5 years old and followed direction like a pro. Her entire session took only an hour and 20 minutes and we got 75 awesome headshots that she can use to start her acting and modeling career.
Her mom even asked if she was any good. Um, yeah. She has what it takes! I’m so excited to see what she does this year especially as pilot season fast approaches!
The Herwig family finally made the big move out to Bend, Oregon. When Kelly wanted beautiful fall family photos, she asked me to be her photographer. It’s always an honor to photograph other photographers.
I love the orange and yellow fall colors throughout their outfits and in the trees at Drake Park in Bend, OR. Kelly’s biggest fear was that her kids wouldn’t last long for the session. But we played, talked Harry Potter, through leaves around and climbed on rocks to keep it interesting.
We even captured a few just of her to celebrate her birthday. She said that she didn’t have many photos of her mom from her childhood so she wanted to make sure she had some beautiful photos of her.
To the Herwigs,
Thank you for letting me capture these beautiful memories for you. I hope you guys can get settled into Bend quickly and I hope that having these on your walls will help to make it feel like home.
Oh my goodness, you guys! I can’t even tell you how much I adore this family. Their two boys are about the same ages as mine so it was easy to know what to capture, since I pretty much captured what I would want.
We went to Sparks Lake on Cascade Lakes Highway in Bend, Oregon – one of my favorite places to photograph families. It was a touch chilly, but the sky was clear and the sun was shining. Even without fall color leaves, we still captured gorgeous fall warm family photos.
At their ordering session, Lauren cried because these photos were exactly what she wanted and hoped for. It is so amazing to see the joy that my creativity can bring to families. It’s why I do this!
I can’t wait to get their portraits hung in their home. I just got one of framed artwork pieces back from the printer and it looks amazing!
It was such a pleasure to meet you! I hope we can have some play dates with the kiddos soon. Thank you for letting me create these memories for you. I know you are going to cherish the new artwork for your Sunriver home.
Come rain or shine we will still get great images! Between rain showers the McCormick family and I hopped out into the tall grass and spent 30 minutes capturing fall family photos. Ashley loves this location because the backdrop is as close to east coast fall as we can get in Bend, Oregon. I love how their blue outfits pop out of the green and cream backdrop.
Even with a mini session, I still love to capture a few beautiful smiling images, a bunch of candids and of course sweet portraits of their sweet baby girl. It’s so much fun to watch her get bigger!
To the McCormicks,
I know you guys know how much I love photographing you guys! Thanks for toughing out the wind and stormy weather with me 🙂 I can’t wait see Palmer start walking and exploring.
While on a walk with my beautiful friend, Crystal, we happened by the oh-so-famous wildflowers off the river trail. I have to admit, in the haze of a busy summer and Covid-19, I completely forgot it was wildflower season. And now the season is almost over.
Crystal and I chatted about how much fun it would be to get her three tiny girls to play in the flowers while I grab a few portraits. I was feeling the creative photo vibe so I texted Crystal and asked if we could meet up.
After floating the river, Crystal got the girls in cute dresses and we did a quick Mommy and Me photo session in the wildflowers. Can you believe how many amazing photos we got in just 30 minutes?
Even with her littlest being a bit of grump, I still was able to get smiles of all the girls. This session was truly magical and I can’t wait to take more photos in the wildflower!
Thanks for being so easy going and quick to do get the girls ready and in the flowers. I love the bond you have with your girls. It always brings me so much joy to photograph them! I hope these bring a bit of joy and magic into your home during this rough season. Love you friend!
Abbie is the sweetest senior! We had so much fun hiking around Shevlin Park in Bend, Oregon for her beautiful senior portraits. Abbie chose me to be her photographer and even drove about an hour to have her photos taken. Such an honor! She loves my light and airy senior portraits and I love people who can’t wait to work with me 🙂 Within minutes I had her posing perfectly because she listened and trusted me. This meant that we basically spent an hour just hanging out, chatting and having fun – oh and I took over 100 portraits of her!
Isn’t she so gorgeous? She is a sweet, slightly shy, fun, soccer playing – photography loving girl! We chatted about soccer for a few minutes, but one thing I love to do is teach photography. So when she mentioned she loves photography too, I couldn’t help but teach her what I was doing as I was doing it. I hope I get to see some if her photos someday!
It was so great getting to know you! You an amazing girl and my hope is that you can see how beautiful, strong and powerful you are. Thank you for letting me capture these photos for you. I truly had a lot of fun photographing you. I hope this year is filled with joy!
I love this photo! It so represents her shy side that she admitted she had. Not every person is outgoing and smiling all the time – even I’m not that way all the time. So I love to be able to capture these moments that show a softer side of someone, especially when it really shows a big part of who they are.
Isn’t it so Little Red Riding Hood inspired? I love it!
Gorgeous right?! I hope Abbie can see how beautiful she is!
I love referrals because they always end up being the most amazing families to work with. That was so true with Jennifer and her family! They came to Bend to get away from the busy city life and relax in the fresh mountain air. Knowing Bend is one of their favorite places to visit, Jennifer decided she would like to get family portraits done while in town. I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to work with them because we captured so many beautiful memories!
I love the photos of everyone just hanging out together and laughing. The little moments of the kids playing and being together are priceless too! Of course I had to get a ton of photos of their new little puppy, Chewie as well as portraits of everyone. Not only did I get a few images of just mom and dad together, but I ended the session with some headshots for them to use for their business.
In just 50 minutes we captured over 200 beautiful lake front portraits and candids of their family at Sparks Lake.
Jennifer, Pascal and kids,
Thank you for letting me create these memories for you. I can’t wait to see them on your wall. I know you will cherish these for a lifetime. You guys were so great!
I always love photographing the McCormick family. They are so kind and fun! Due to the quarantine, they happened to be in Oregon. Yay! This meant fun family photography time at Shevlin Park in Bend, Oregon.
The green spring-time Aspens made for a perfect backdrop for photos with 4 month old Palmer. She was so smiley which was delightful! And of course we had to take a couple photos in the pine tree landscape Oregon is known for. I love that those two areas are next to each other at Shevlin Park.
I’m so glad we got to take these photos and document Palmer as she grows. It was also great to show her interacting with Mom and Dad.
To the Ashley, Alex and Palmer,
I love these photos and I hope you will enjoy these memories! I can’t wait to photograph your family again.
Carrie and I met through a mutual friends at a Bunco night and instantly got along. After learning that she hadn’t had time to find a photographer and take family photo with Hank, I knew we had to change things! Months later (but at least we did it!) we were able to schedule this awesome winter family session at Shelvin Park in Bend, Oregon.
It turned out to be a touch cold with a few flurries of snow here and there, but we still had a good time! We spent most of the session trying to get sweet little Hank to smile for 1 good family photo. Thank goodness Eric and Carrie trusted me enough to keep smiling and not worry about their boy. We kept going and got Hank to play and even had fun looking for fish at the end.
I love seeing families come together to capture this special time in their lives. Even if everyone isn’t in a perfect mood, we can still get some really beautiful moments.
Eric and Carrie,
Thank you so much for keeping those smiles on your faces and trusting me with your family photos. I love how they came out and hope you can enjoy looking back at this time! Todd, thank you for listening, having fun and being a great big bro, even when Hank kept kicking you away. Your attitude was awesome and totally helped things go smoothly. Thank you!!
What a fun family! When your whole family comes to visit and you know it won’t happen again for a long time, that is when you book a photo session. Callie knew that when her niece and nephew came to town that she just had to get adorable photos with the little ones (and of course her parents, brother and sister in law), but we all know the kids steal the show 🙂
These kiddos are so cute! I wish they lived closer so I could photograph those beautiful little faces every year.
Callie and her brother grew up in Bend and even ran into some friends from high school in the middle of our shoot. They are really a great family. With Callie’s dad getting more unable to move around, these family photos are more valuable than ever before. What was so great was that Callie was able to borrow an amazing off-road wheel chair for the session to get dad around. Click here to learn more about the AdvenChair.
If you haven’t been out to Dillon Falls in Bend, Oregon, I’d highly suggest heading out and checking out the trail along the river. It goes right by the falls. My favorite spot for photos is the field. It’s only accessibly for part of the year, and you can’t go too far into it, but it sure is pretty!
We had perfect fall weather for this Dillon Falls family photography session. I love the fall colors they chose for their session too! It screams fall, and yet still can work all year long when they hang these photos in their homes.
Moms always ask, what if my kid cries the whole time? I do have a ton of tips I give to families on how to prepare your kiddo for a session so this doesn’t happen. It includes keeping your schedule the same as always and making sure they get a lot of rest. So, when you drive into town at midnight the night before your session and truly have no control over emotions of your kids, what do we do at the shoot? We shoot anyway. We play, we bribe (yes, bring the candy), we say yes, we make them happy and we shoot a little longer if we need to.
Sweet little Barrett had a rough go at this session, but he totally rallied at the end. Even throughout the session you can’t totally tell that he was crying. The rest of the family helped with him and kept the atmosphere joyful, which can be the key to success. I’m so happy with their family photos and extra glad that Barrett loves M&Ms 🙂
To the Pfister Family,
Thank you for trusting me to take these amazing family photos of your crew. I hope you love them as much as I do! I know you will cherish these for years to come.
