How to Gain Genuine Followers on Instagram

How to Gain Authentic Followers on Instagram

Gaining followers can be easy, but gaining the right followers, who actually care about your business and want to buy from you takes a lot of time. In order to get the right followers, here are 3 things you need to do grow an authentic following:

Share

Sharing yourself and your world on Instagram is super important in helping clients connect with who you are. Before they can hire you, they must know, like, and trust you.

So how do you get them to know, like, and trust you quickly?

You speak their language. What does this really mean though?

  1. Speak casually. Use your own voice and write exactly how you speak. This will give them an idea of who you are and what you know (instead of being super formal and having perfectly written posts).
  2. Share insight. Know what they want to know and share that info with them while reminding them of the benefits of hiring you. Sharing stories of clients and giving tips are two great ways to share insight on sessions, life and more.
  3. Share personal stories. Get real and share your struggles, your journey and how you overcame hard situations. This reminds people that you are real. It allows them to share in a struggle with you which subconsciously connects them to you. Plus, everyone loves to be encouraged when it comes from a real place.

Think about this: what do they want to hear or learn from you? Remember, social platforms are a place to be entertained and to connect with others. All your educational posts should either entertain, encourage or let people into your world. Once you know what they want, you can give it to them to provide high quality relevant content.

Hastags

Hashtags. Much like keywords for your blog, hashtags will help your posts get seen. Add hashtags that your clients use as well as the ones that they will look up to find your services. Make multiple lists of hashtags so you always have them ready when posting.

Know Your Benefits

Lastly, know who you are, what the benefits are for hiring you as their photographer and what stories you can share with them that will help them connect with you on a personal level. Don’t be afraid to share your downs and how you overcame obstacles. These are just as important as your wins when it comes to real connections with potential clients.

My favorite resource for writing genuine posts is Social Curator. They offer 30 prewritten posts per month that are easy to customize. If you are stuck, start with a month and see if these posts will help get you unstuck in your writing. Using this code will get you $15 off your first month or $50 off your first year: https://hello.socialcurator.com/a/ybFacfofANNp7XlvpLtc
